Leprechaun Tea Party

Today we enjoyed a “green” themed tea party and had 6 little leprechauns in attendance!  It was a fun afternoon and everything was super simple to put together.

We had Shamrock Smashed Chickpea & Avocado Sandwiches, Turkey and Cheese Sandwiches (I figured the wee leprechauns would prefer these. They don’t know what they are missing!), green apples and kiwi, Rice Krispie Treats with Lucky Charms marshmallows in them and our friends brought some green snap peas (awesome, since I forgot a veggie) and some yummy pistachio pudding.  Oh, and we had some “Leprechaun Tea”!

Smashed Chickpea & Avocado Sandwiches are one of my favorites of all time! Click HERE for the recipe.

I found the recipe for the Lucky Charms Rice Krispie Treats HERE.

Jos was desperate to “taste test” one as these are a treat that are quite rare around here.  I think I have made them one other time for her but she has had them a few times at other places.  They were yummy!

The Leprechaun Tea was made using THIS recipe.  I bought lime popsicles without artificial coloring though so our juice did not turn green but kept the color of the pineapple juice.  I also didn’t take the time to cut the cute little shamrock apples although I thought they were adorable.

Our friends brought a couple of St. Patrick’s Day books  from the library and materials to make bird seed bagels to hang outside for the birdies for after the tea party.  So, we read books, made our bird feeders, the babies played, the “big kids” hunted for plastic gold and green coins. It was fun.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
