4th of July Fun in the Burg

0-2S

We spent most of the day at home…playing, cleaning, moving rocks, painting and more, but ventured out in the evening for our town’s 4th of July event held at one of our local parks.  Let me just say, I had to beg and plead to get these pigtails in and to stay in!  Normally, I don’t care…I let our little firecracker do her thing, since it’s not worth the battle, but occasionally I like to feel like I have at least attempted to do something with her hair, even if her part in the back is completely crooked because she can’t sit still for 5 seconds!  Amazingly, she was distracted enough throughout the evening that she didn’t pull them out 5 minutes into our adventure! Success!  Hehe! It’s the little things…

And this…  Jos was taught how to make funny faces this week by the granddaughter of one of Justin’s co-workers.  She is really having fun with this! 🙂

Our adventure started with a stop at the Hot Diggidy Dog booth at the park.

Then, it was on to ice cream and popcorn.

Next, was a friendly race on some stick ponies.  Jos absolutely LOVED doing this.  She really enjoyed riding her stick pony around the hay bales and climbing all over them!  Birthday present dilemma, solved!   Don’t tell her… 😉

She rode a pink cow too.

We concluded our night at home with some poppers, too windy for much else, and then our neighbors put on a mega fireworks display right out our front window.  Jos was up late and LOVED the fireworks!  Nala was up late and DESPISED the fireworks….poor doggie girl. 😦
