Although this is not a typical day in the life at home, this was a typical day at the beach on our recent getaway to the Oregon Coast! I can’t express my thanks enough to the VERY generous family who let us use their lovely beach home for 5 days so we could enjoy a getaway with our “big girl” before Baby # 2 arrives! It was simply wonderful and such a nice break from the “norm”.
We spent a ton of time on the beach building sandcastles, looking for sand dollars, burying feet in sand, and making “swimming pools” for dolls. We also enjoyed a carousel ride, $1 ice cream cones & saltwater taffy, flying kites, visiting a State Park where we saw lots of starfish and other sea creatures, making s’mores and hot dogs over a backyard fire, hiking and finding frogs and banana slugs and watching movies. Joslyn’s Nanny & Grampi even joined us for a couple of days while we were there! It was the perfect getaway and such a joy to see our girl having soooo much fun on the beach! She wanted to take her shoes off as soon as she hit the sand! I think this trip may have helped her get past her intolerance to getting dirty too… She has always been one who doesn’t enjoy getting dirty or wet, especially when it is unexpected, but she certainly enjoyed getting wet, sandy and dirty at the beach! Yay!
No trip to any beach is complete without POG, apparently… Jos had it in her head we were going to Hawaii, which is where she had POG, so we had to get some. I think she knows we were on the Oregon Coast now but it took awhile for that to sink in. 😉
Justin “interviewing” Jos about her day. 🙂
