We are at it again…another countdown, but this time for Valentine’s Day! It’s so much fun for me to plan these activities for Miss J! I would like to apologize now though to her future kindergarten teacher as she may be well versed in a number of the activities and songs that go along with the various seasons and holidays long before she enters K. 😉
I recently went through some of my school bins and found a bunch of “new” books for Jos! She’s loving them!
I got this adorable little mailbox at Target for $5 and the heart boxes at Dollar Tree for $1!
Nala always has to get in on the action!
For the sun catchers, I cut heart shapes out of contact paper, put tape on the non sticky side and taped it to the slider, peeled off the paper to reveal the sticky side, and then Jos was able to put scrap pieces of tissue paper cut into squares onto her heart. We also had a few small construction paper heart cut-outs to add to them as well.

What is polar bear fishing? Well, using a polar bear fishing pole you catch ABC fish that are swimming in the ocean, of course! The “fishing pole” is made from a dollar store wooden spoon, yarn, a magnet, tape, hot glue, and a polar bear picture, and the fish are just colored printables that I wrote the alphabet on, laminated, and stuck a paper clip on. The magnet on the “fishing pole” is attracted to the paperclip and a catch is made! Joslyn enjoys this new game and her favorite letter to catch is D for Daddy!
We then taped Philina to a popsicle stick to make a puppet and had fun singing a groundhog song and looking for Philina’s shadow.
