Joslyn’s weigh in at her first doctor’s appointment
3 days old ~ 5lbs. 15 oz. ~ 18 1/2 in long ~ head -13 in.
Joslyn’s weigh in today at her 4 month check-up
14 lbs. 13 oz. (75%) ~ 24 in. long (50%) ~ head – 16 1/4 in. (60%)
Justin said she should enjoy being in the 50th percentile for height while she can because it’s bound to go downhill from here considering the height of both her parents. 😉 I can hardly believe how much she has grown when I look at these two pictures…what a chunk! She is definitely above average in weight, but the doctor said that was perfectly normal, especially for a breastfed baby.
Waiting for the doctor to come in… I love the look on her face as she is staring at her awesome Daddy.
Getting dressed after the check-up…poor sweet pea has no idea that the dreaded shots are coming up next. 😦 She did so much better this time though before the shots. She hardly fussed at all but was rather quite content during her check-up.
The horrible, terrible, no good shots!!! 😦 Ok, perhaps they are good in certain aspects and serve their purpose but it’s no fun holding your little angel and seeing their sweet face when they feel that first poke. Looking at this picture makes me feel queasy all over again.
The crying didn’t last too long and Joslyn fell asleep on the drive home. She did wake up shortly after but then settled down for a 2 hour nap which NEVER happens around here so obviously she needed it. When she woke up she was fine for about 25 minutes and then the crying started. It wasn’t an “I’m hungry” or “I’m sleepy” or “Change me” cry…no, it was definitely an “I feel icky” cry. The only thing that helped was holding her and walking around swaying back and forth. Her little legs were so red and a wee bit swollen too. She had another brief period of happiness this evening and now she is sleeping soundly, hopefully for the night. I did give her Tylenol before our appointment this time so I think that helped but as anyone who has ever had to watch their kiddos get shots knows…it’s never fun. Hopefully the little sweet pea will feel good in the morning. 🙂
